Are you having trouble hearing?
Hearing loss can affect us at any age. Sometimes we're born with significantly greater hearing loss than others and need assistance through hearing aides for the rest of our lives. Sometimes working in industry for many years can contribute to hearing loss. And sometimes, merely because we're getting older (though not necessarily wiser) our ears begin to give up on us. Andrew Reveley is a certified audiometrist with over 30 years ordering, fitting and testing new and old hearing aides. If it has been more than 5 years since you were last fitted with a hearing aide from your industry insurer or you think you might be eligible for a new aide then come in today and have a chat.
We also facilitate:
- Repairs
- Adjustments
- Batteries and Cleaning Equipment (ie: wax cleaners - Cerostops, ceropads).
We can send you information on a wide variety of hearing aides. One of our suppliers WIDEX has brochures we can obtain for you on the following hearing aides:
- · Clear 440
- · Mind 440
- · Mind 330
- . Mind 220
- · Passion/ Passion 440
- · Inteo
- · Aikia
- · Flas
- · Real

Getting New Aides
Hearing aides can be an expensive but also a personally invalueble exercise. With new hearing aides your family will feel at greater ease talking (rather than yelling) to you and you will feel more confident socialising and listening to others.
- If you are a Pensioner, in need of new hearing aides then the following weblink will be useful: http://www.health.gov.au/internet/main/publishing.nsf/Content/health-hear-applic.htm
This links to a form for you to submit. In two weeks time from the date of submission, you will see if you're eligible for basic hearing aides OR subsidised advanced hearing aides and hearing aide maintenance (ie: batteries, further consultations)
- If you are covered by an Industry Insurer and it has been 5 years or more since you last obtained hearing aides from them, give them a call to see if you're eligible again! Some insurers that we deal with include:
- Bluescope Steel
- Coalmines Insurance (CMI)
- Work Cover
And more. . .
They also cover replacement hearing aides, provisions for first time wearers and lots of information.
How long will it take?
Most hearing aides take approximately 2/3 weeks to be made up. We try very hard to provide them in a timely manner but because the servicing of hearing aides is a secondary business to optometry, please bear with us if we are a few days late or forget to return your calls. Sometimes there is paperwork that must be done by yourself, your hearing aide consultant and your GP so that the hearing aides can be supplied to you. All hearing aides are different and may require different types of testing and servicing.
Give Andrew a call on (02) 4227 3330 and make an appointment to see him. He can devote approximately half an hour of his time to answer any questions you might have.
